Unfortunately, no regulation currently exists for businesses offering cosmetic injectables which has allowed people with unsuitable medical backgrounds and training to offer these treatments in the wrong surroundings.
As a specialist clinic with over 10 years experience, we have seen a number of clients who have received poor treatments at the hands of inexperienced practitioners – some who inject substances that we consider to be totally unsuitable for use as a cosmetic treatment.
“Although the new scheme cannot effectively measure the skill of a practitioner offering injectable cosmetic treatments, this new register does ensure that they are trained and offer treatments in a safe environment with a recognised complaints system and insurance policies to protect consumers” comments Dr David Eccleston – Clinical Director at MediZen.
”We wholeheartedly support any regulation that helps to raise standards in our industry to make treatments safer and are proud to be the first clinic to be accepted onto the register in the West Midlands”.
