Velashape for the Reduction of Cellulite and for Body Contouring

Cellulite - Background, Treatment Alternatives and Velashape
Cellulite is the name given to the lumpy, irregular fat deposits often found around the hips, buttocks and upper leg areas. It is sometimes described as “orange peel skin” because of the dimpled appearance of the affected areas. It appears in 90% of post-adolescent women, even those who put a lot of effort into keeping their bodies slim and well toned, but is rarely seen in men.
Along with a good diet and exercise, which can help in the early stages of cellulite formation, there are many different treatments that have been claimed to improve cellulite including creams and gels, body wrapping, massage and herbal preparations. Although there can be a short-lived cosmetic improvement with some of these treatments, none have been medically proven to make a real difference. Even liposuction, which is the most commonly performed aesthetic surgical procedure for fat removal and body contouring, tends not to be used to treat cellulite by many surgeons - as the final result is often poor.
So are there any safe alternatives? Well, although there are currently no clinically proven treatments that permanently remove fat and reduce the appearance of cellulite, there are other treatments options that do offer proven visible improvement and are gaining in popularity amongst the medical community, including new treatments like Velashape. Most clients find Velashape for cellulite treatment to be comfortable - like a warm deep tissue massage, when the treatment head is gently applied to the affected area.Treatment time can range from 30 – 45 minutes or more per session, depending on the size of the area treated. Your skin may appear red and warm for several hours after having a Velashape treatment. To achieve the best results, you will need a minimum of 6 sessions. We recommend that you receive treatment sessions at roughly weekly intervals. A top-up treatment is recommended at intervals of 3 months. Does it hurt and what could go wrong?
Your skin may appear red for several hours after having a Velashape treatment – but there is rarely any other complication associated with this form of therapy, and you should be able to return to normal activities straight after a treatment session. Who should not have Velashape treatment? As long as you are generally healthy and don’t have any skin diseases or infections in the area treated, there are few medical reasons why people can’t undergo this treatment.
