  • Pigmentation

Overview

Pigmentation refers to the colouring of the skin which is determined by the pigment melanin. Skin cells produce melanin, however, when the skin is damaged through excess UV sun exposure as well as other factors such as hormones and genetics it can lead to hyperpigmentation.

Pigmentation arises in the form of age spots, melasma, as well as birthmarks and, is heightened during pregnancy and as we age.

As well as using broad-spectrum sun protection to protect the skin from further damage, we have a number of proven effective treatments to reduce the appearance of pigmentation.
