Overview

Rosacea is a common condition affecting 1 in 10 adults in the UK. Rosacea has a similar appearance to acne that typically affects the face, resulting in redness, swelling, spots and superficial dilated blood vessels. Rosacea can range from very mild to severe, treatment plans will depend on your specific skin.

It is not known exactly what causes Rosacea but common factors involve malfunctioning of facial blood vessels, sun damage, genetics and abnormal immune reactions. Due to its similar appearance to acne, it can often be misdiagnosed so it’s important to see a medical professional if you have any skin concerns at all.

Find your confidence again

Left untreated, Rosacea can lead to dry, flaky and uneven skin which may sting or lead to tightness. Some people may find they don’t have Rosacea, but they do suffer from small amounts of redness on their face. This is often caused by excess UV exposure or can be down to lifestyle factors such as stress, hormones, food and alcohol.

Whether you suffer from small amounts of redness or mild to severe Rosacea, we can begin your journey to feeling your most confident self again. Each patient is thoroughly consulted and a bespoke treatment plan will be created for you. FAQ

We’re here to help

You’ve found us! MediZen is the premier aesthetics clinic in the Midlands. A medically-led clinic located in Sutton Coldfield, we’re easily accessible to those based in Birmingham, the Midlands, and further afield.

There is no one size fits all with aesthetic treatments, treatment will entirely depend on your skin condition, your desired result and the treatments or products that will work for you. We have a range of options available, our practitioners will bespoke treatment plans to each individual to ensure you get the best possible result. We recommend booking a skin consultation with a practitioner to discuss the right treatments and products for you.

Due to Rosacea not having a known cause, and not being due to poor hygiene, as well as not being contagious, it can be difficult to know how to treat it. If you know the trigger for your Rosacea you should try to avoid that as much as possible. Your GP may prescribe medications or creams but it is vital to use gentle products on your skin, wear SPF everyday and heat as much as possible. If your Rosacea is still present then you are likely to need more intense, specific treatment from a medical clinic.

Rosacea can often be misdiagnosed due to symptoms being similar to acne. Rosacea most commonly affects only the face and neck rather than other areas of the body. If you feel you have a skin condition but need a diagnosis please get in touch. Our medical professionals are highly trained in skin concerns and will be able to diagnose, and provide advice and guidance on treatments.
