Teoxane babyGLOW is a hyaluronic acid skin booster treatment from Teoxane, the Swiss hyaluronic acid specialist. It uses one product, Teosyal PureSense Redensity 1, placed with an 8-point injection technique that a global group of aesthetic doctors designed and validated. The aim is an immediate glow plus a longer term improvement in hydration, elasticity and skin quality.

Redensity 1 is a non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid gel carrying 15 mg/ml of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. Alongside it sits a complex of amino acids, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins that Teoxane calls the Dermo-Restructuring Complex. It is a CE-marked medical device made by Teoxane in Geneva, and it has been used for skin quality treatments for many years.

No. Redensity 1 is not crosslinked, so it does not hold shape or add volume the way a dermal filler does. It spreads through the layer under the skin to hydrate and revitalise. If you want to restore volume or definition, your MediZen practitioner will talk to you about fillers instead, or alongside.

Both are hyaluronic acid skin boosters, and both work well. Profhilo uses a high concentration of pure hyaluronic acid placed at five points per side and is chosen mainly for laxity and crepey skin, including on the neck, hands and body. Teoxane babyGLOW uses Redensity 1 with added amino acids, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. It is placed at eight points per side of the face for an immediate glow and hydration. Many people use both over a year.

Your practitioner draws four landmark lines on the face. Redensity 1 is then injected at eight anatomical points on each side: four along the cheek, one at the angle of the jaw, two beside the mouth and one just under the tail of the brow. Each point receives 0.2 ml, with 0.1 ml at the brow, and a full face uses one 3 ml syringe. The points were chosen for how the face reflects light, and for safety.

Most people see a glow the same day, once the small bumps at the injection points have settled. Teoxane’s data shows further improvement over the following nine days as the gel integrates and draws water into the skin. Hydration and elasticity then build with each session of your course.

Teoxane’s beautification protocol, designed for people in their twenties and early thirties, is two sessions four weeks apart. The rejuvenation protocol, for people over thirty five, is three sessions: the first two four weeks apart, then a third six weeks after the second. Your practitioner will recommend one at your consultation.

Results build over the course and are then maintained with top up sessions. Teoxane recommends a maintenance plan after the initial course rather than a fixed interval, because skin, age and lifestyle vary. We agree your rhythm at the review appointment.

Redensity 1 is placed with a very fine 30 gauge needle only 4 mm long, and most people describe a series of small pinches. In Teoxane’s real-world assessment, 88 percent of patients felt comfortable during the injections. Tell your practitioner if you would like a topical numbing cream applied first.

Very little. You may see small raised points where the gel was placed. They usually settle within a few hours after the massage at the end of your session. A pinpoint bruise or mild redness is possible and fades within a few days. In Teoxane’s assessment, 98 percent of patients went straight back to their daily activities.
