Transform your skin with the revolutionary Julaine treatment

If you’re looking for a treatment that works with your skin’s own biology to restore a firmer, healthier-looking complexion, Julaine could be exactly what you’ve been searching for. Juläine is an injectable collagen activator made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible and biodegradable material that has been used safely in aesthetics for over 25 years.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which add volume instantly, Juläine works gradually. Its uniquely engineered microspheres are released into the skin, where they gently encourage your body’s own fibroblasts to produce more of the collagen types that keep skin looking firm, smooth and youthful, without triggering excess inflammation.

Juläine is currently used to treat nasolabial folds (the lines that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth), helping to soften shallow to deep folds and restore a more refreshed, rested appearance over time.

Experience the benefits of this new generation of collagen-activating treatments with Juläine at MediZen in Birmingham.

What is Juläine?

Juläine is an injectable implant made primarily from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) microspheres, combined with sodium carboxymethylcellulose and non-pyrogenic mannitol. PLLA is a well-established biomaterial that has been used in regenerative aesthetics for more than two decades thanks to its excellent safety profile and proven biodegradability.

What makes Juläine different is its LasynPro™ microsphere technology. Each microsphere has a uniform, spherical shape and a dense, smooth structure, designed to disperse evenly through the skin without clumping. As the microspheres gradually break down, they release lactic acid – a molecule now understood to play an active role in signalling the skin’s fibroblasts to produce more collagen, in a low-inflammatory way.

How does Juläine work?

Once injected into the dermal layer, Juläine’s microspheres integrate smoothly into the tissue and begin a slow, controlled release of lactic acid. This encourages your skin’s own cells to rebuild the extracellular matrix – the structural “scaffolding” that gives skin its strength, elasticity and softness, helping to gradually smooth wrinkles and tighten the skin from within. Results build progressively over the following months as your own collagen network is restored.

Juläine is intended for the augmentation of shallow to deep nasolabial folds and is suitable for adult, immune-competent individuals.

What are the benefits of Juläine?

  • Stimulates Your Own Collagen: Juläine activates your skin’s own fibroblasts to produce more collagen types I and III – the key proteins responsible for skin strength, elasticity and softness, helping to counteract the natural decline in collagen production that begins from your mid-twenties.
  • Natural, Progressive Results: Rather than an immediate “filled” appearance, Juläine works gradually with your skin, delivering a progressive improvement that looks like your skin simply rejuvenating itself over time.
  • Long-Lasting: Because Juläine works by rebuilding your own collagen network rather than simply adding volume, results are designed to be progressive and long-lasting.
  • Biocompatible and Biodegradable: Made from poly-L-lactic acid, a material with a well-established safety profile that has been used in aesthetics for over 25 years, Juläine breaks down naturally within the body.
  • Low-Inflammatory Action: Juläine’s unique LasynPro™ microsphere technology has been shown to support collagen synthesis through a gentle, low-inflammatory pathway, helping the skin to integrate the treatment smoothly.
  • Convenient and Comfortable: Juläine is injected using a fine needle or a cannula, with straightforward aftercare for patients.

FAQ

We’re here to help

Juläine is an injectable collagen activator made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) microspheres. It’s designed to gently stimulate your skin’s own collagen production, helping to smooth wrinkles, tighten the skin and restore a more refreshed appearance over time.

Juläine’s microspheres are injected into the dermal layer, where they gradually release lactic acid. This signals your skin’s fibroblasts to produce more collagen, helping to rebuild the skin’s underlying structure from within. Because this happens gradually, results build progressively rather than appearing instantly.

Most patients require a course of 3 treatments, spaced around 4–6 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Your practitioner will confirm the right plan for you at your consultation.

Because Juläine works by stimulating your own collagen production, results build gradually. Many patients begin to notice improvements within a couple of months of each treatment, with results continuing to develop over the following months.

Juläine is designed to deliver progressive, long-lasting results by helping to restore your skin’s own collagen network, rather than simply adding temporary volume.

Not quite. While both are injectable treatments, traditional dermal fillers (typically made from hyaluronic acid) add volume instantly. Juläine works differently – it’s a collagen activator (sometimes called a “collagen stimulator”) that encourages your skin to rebuild its own collagen over time, leading to a more gradual, natural-looking improvement.

Juläine is injected into the dermal layer using a fine needle or cannula. As with most injectable treatments, you may feel some sensation during the injection, and topical numbing cream can be used if needed for your comfort.

Most patients are able to return to their normal activities the same day. Mild swelling, redness or small bumps at the injection site are common initially and usually settle within a few days.

Juläine is suitable for adult, immune-competent individuals looking to improve the appearance of nasolabial folds. As with all injectable treatments, your suitability will be assessed during a full consultation with one of our medical professionals.
