Dr Matthew Perks graduated in Medicine from the University of Southampton and spent his first two years as a junior doctor in the Lake District. He went on to work in emergency medicine across the UK and in Australia, spending seven years in A&E before moving into aesthetics full time.
He began working in aesthetic medicine in 2016 and left the NHS in 2020 to practise it full time. He has since worked in busy clinics in Liverpool, Glasgow, London and Manchester, and joins MediZen with almost ten years of injectable experience behind him.
His focus is full face rejuvenation and profile balancing, treating the face as a whole rather than correcting one line or one area in isolation. The results he aims for are deliberately subtle: enhancing the way someone looks rather than altering it. At MediZen he performs anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, collagen stimulating injectables and non-surgical rhinoplasty.
Dr Perks joined the expert faculty at the aesthetic training provider Cosmetic Courses in 2023, where he teaches foundation and intermediate injectable technique, lip filler and non-surgical facelift technique to other medical professionals. Teaching a technique to other doctors and nurses demands a level of precision and anatomical understanding that patients feel directly in the chair.
Away from the clinic he is father to two young sons, and spends his free time on the golf course, listening to country music, and at the beach whenever the weather allows.
